The Shakespeare Theatre's outdoor performances began last night with Hamlet at Carter Barron. Free tickets are available in advance locally at the Shakespeare Theatre Company, Sidney Harman Hall, 610 F Street NW, Tuesdays through Sundays, beginning at noon. (1 block east of the Gallery Place/Chinatown/Penn Quarter Metro Station.).

Penn Quarter Living notes that the National Gallery of Art begins its Jazz in the Garden series tonight. Take the Circulator, bike, or stroll down to the sculpture garden with a big blanket and a picnic basket and your family and friends to enjoy the great weather, music, gardens, the big fountain, and the fantastic sculptures.
