Murder, Apparently Drug Related, on 7th St NW between P & RI

Marion and Q Streets NW
UPDATE June 14, 2007 (Deceased accurate surname): MPO Barnes reported that the deceased was my constituent Marvin Little Jackson who resided on 6th Street. Recently, he had been known to be hanging out at the residence at 640 Q Street NW. This home is owned by a 90 year old gentleman with some severe disabilities who has about 15 children who are often seen coming and going to and from the home — several of whom may in fact reside at 640 Q Street. Apparenly, the late Mr Little had been known to be selling drugs for a group of young men who do not reside in the nieghborhood and was shot because he “got the money wrong.” He was shot first on the stoop of 640 Q Street and after fleeing shot and killed when his pursuers apprehended him on 7th St. The killers, who are known only by knickname by the MPD at this point, were driving a tan SUV.
UPDATE: There is a $25,000 reward being offered for any information that will lead to an arrest related to this incident. If you have information, please call the MPD Anonymous Tip line: (202) 727-9099.
Last night around 12:30 am, three gunmen pursued the 50 year old victim, who was on a bicycle, out from an alley onto 7th Street and reportedly fired at least 19-21 shots at least one of which caused the mortal wound to the victim's leg that led to him bleeding to death. Master Patrol Officer Tommy Barnes was on the scene this morning at 8:30 am while the MPD was still securing the area with police tape. Ofc. Barnes noted that police academy recruits had been called in to survey the area this morning for evidence and to gather more information. The area bordered by Marion Street to 9th Street and P St to Rhode Island Ave, including some sidewalks, have been closed off for the investigation until further notice. The incident was possibly drug related but not apparently related to local gang activity.
