DDOT Recruiting School Crossing Guards
The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) is in the process of hiring new school crossing guards in a major expansion of this important program that helps students get to and from school safely.
The objective of the program is to provide a safe pedestrian and bicycle environment for students before and after school. Crossing guards are stationed at their assigned locations from 8am to 10am, and again from 2pm to 4pm. DDOT took over the School Crossing Guard from the Metropolitan Police Department 2007.
