Meet the new Shaw Middle School Principal

Shaw Junior High School is in restructuring. It has failed AYP (Leave No Child Behind) for 5 years and so the Principal was replaced. Shaw JHS will also be demolished and rebuilt on the same site. The school will also be merged with Garnett Patterson School which is now officially closed. The temporaty Shaw JHS will be on the Garnett Patterson site.
The new Principal, Mr. Brian Betts (right) comes to us from Montgomery County Public Schools. Come join the 1330 Tenant Association in talking to him and learning about his vision and plans for Shaw Junior High School on Thursday, July 31 at 7pm in the1330 Community Room at 1330 Apartments located at 1330 7th St., NW.
He is very interested in engaging the community in rebuilding and restructuring Shaw. So let's support our new Principal.
