I have the websites of every state legislature hot linked on my computer at work and regularly use them. Almost all of them them are night-and-day with what we have in DC. It amazes me that the legislative branch of our DC government makes it so difficult for citizens to monitor legislation and find out very basic information on council committees and hearings. Much of the info is online somewhere (although not necessarily routinely updated) -- but it's just a big mess. It needs to change and it would not take a substantial investment to do so.
