A neighbor was passing out CCCA fliers on NJ Ave when he ran in to a resident who mentioned that local neighbors are excited about the progress of the development going on at the corner of NJ Ave & R Street NW. Apparently, there will be some ground level retail with some residential units upstairs. The image at right shows what the property looked like just last September, when I'm told, OTR records still listed the property as vacant but didn't note that work was in progress at the time.

The dark red repointed brick and dark trim is definitely a nice improvement over the previous condition of the paint. The space on the NJ Ave side of the property would make for a fantastic outdoor restaurant patio if the current zoning would allow for that.
