Black History Month book signing and discussion

The National Park Service’s Carter G. Woodson Home National Historic Site will present a discussion and signing of the newly released book, “The Early Black History Movement, Carter G. Woodson and Lorenzo Johnston Greene.”

The Early Black History Movement, Carter G. Woodson and Lorenzo Johnston GreeneHistorian and author Dr. Pero Gaglo Dagbovie will discuss his book and his insights on the early black history movement through the lives and scholarship of two of its pioneers. Books will be available for purchase in advance at the Mary McLeod Bethune Council House book store and will be sold on the day of the event. The book store is open Monday through Saturday, 9:am to 5pm.

This event is cosponsored by Shaw Main Streets (SMS) and serves as this year’s official SMS observance of Black History Month.
