The Historical Society of Washington (HSW) has a lot of great events lined up for the community this year. As a part of it's Wednesday Series, John DeDakis (Senior Copy Editor of CNN's ‘The Situation Room’ with Wolf Blitzer) read from his new book: “Fast Track". His talk was entitled "From Journalist to Novelist (Or How I Learned to Stop Telling the Truth and Start Making it Up).”

In this video clip, DeDakis reveals how he went from a student aspiring to becoming a lawyer and politician to stumbling into the Vietnam War and becoming a journalist. This event featured a book signing and Q&A during which DeDakis discussed the challenges of the modern media and the art of writing fiction.
