Two car owners parked on the 1500 block of 5th St NW, near the Scott Montgomery Elementary School (& KIPP), awoke to an unpleasant surprise this morning. Both cars had driver's-side windows bashed in. One car, the blue GMC Envoy was broken into less than two months ago in the same location. The owner of the Envoy explained that he'd been careful not to leave anything of value in plain view, but that didn't stop the perps from ransacking the vehicle.

Master Partol Officer Tommy Barnes, who said he might be on hand to answer questions at tonight's ANC 2C02 SMD meeting, arrived on the scene with several other officers.
